You know those calendars with the fantasy vacations homes? The ones where you spend more time looking at the pictures on them instead of using the calendar to plan things? Well, the Larenjeiras Residence in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is one of those homes, except it’s real. Designed by Fenanda Marques Arquitetos Asociados, this vacation mansion seems to be symbiotically living with the landscape surrounding it, meshing with the coastal beauty through a variety of features, including a wood covered, extremely natural looking exterior and a nice sampling of floor to ceiling windows with an incredible view. Marques designed the house with both finished and unfinished materials, aiming to create a vibe that falls between “rustic and high tech.” Either way, the end result is absolutely incomparable, and certainly worth being featured in a calendar.
