It’s been too long since anyone took hip-hop into the final frontier. Well, maybe hip-hop has never made the trip out of the atmosphere. Never, until Ohio born and bred rapper Stalley decided to take it there, albeit with the help of some Chevys and pretty incredible visuals. Chevys & Space Ships, the newest video from the upcoming re-release Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music) due out in October, is a quick track (rounding out at a brisk 2:17), but the slinky smooth beat combined with the laid-back flow of Stalley puts you in a trance that lasts much longer. The video, from Illusive Media, is simply extravagant, putting the young rhyme-spitter in both outer space and some classic American automobiles. Let’s hope that Stalley keeps pushing the limits of space-time travel with future releases.
