Mad Max is probably one of the best post-apocalyptic movies to ever come out. When Mel Gibson was still young, handsome, and not crazy, he played the anti-hero Max Rockatansky. He drove around an Australian wasteland battling evil road warriors. A simple premise for one of the best low-budget films ever made. In that film, Max drove around in a boxy and clunky muscle car. TopGear challenged Ford to make a Mad Max Concept ride in homage to the film. According to Ford, “The two ‘Interceptors’, created by Ford designers Nima Nourian and Simon Brook, have been turned into show-car models at the Melbourne International Motor show 2011.” Evidently, Nima and Simon took their time and referenced much of the older model in the movie. The upgrades they did was giving Mad Max’s ride a fiercer yet sleeker look. It still has that muscle car feel, but not so much a post-apocalptic design. Still, it looks great and would love to see it in a film remake.
