Charismatic Chris Evans/”Fantastic Four” perfectly embodies Marvel Comics’ forties’ superhero Captain America in a big screen, hi-tech extravaganza of special F/X, CGI, and knockout stunts. Circa WWII, Steve Rogers (Evans) is the proverbial 98lb. weakling, a wannabe US Army soldier but rejected as 4-F. His determination attracts the attention of scientist Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci), creator of a unique, bodybuilding program using a serum overseered by Col. Chester Phillips (forcefully portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones), and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), a beautiful servicewoman. Agreeing to be the guinea pig for conversion into a superhuman soldier/fighting machine, Steve is injected, and, heretofore scrawny and sickly, is transformed into Captain America with superhuman strength, speed, agility, and powers beyond comprehension. He challenges the Third Reich’s Nazis, specifically; the spinoff scientific unit of HYDRA led by power-crazed Red Skull (Hugo Weaving), with a tomato-colored face of evil whose intent is world domination, and his chief scientist, Dr. Armin Zola (Toby Jones).
Director Joe Johnston/”The Wolfman,” crafts an action-filled movie spearheaded by Chris Evans’ Capt. America who becomes a respected leader of men to combat the enemy, rescue his friends and the world alike.

I feel this Captain guy really should win against Batman. I mean he really should be considerably stronger, faster and more sturdy. On the other hand, Batman is almost certainly much more highly trained in a variety of martial arts which could tip it in his favour. Batman’s outfit is defintely less camp – except in the 60s series and possibly that film with George Clooney.
