Porsche recently decided to unveil their Panamera Turbo S ahead of the New York Auto Show. The polarizing four-door now boasts 550 horsepower, a bump of 50 over the Turbo model. Porsche attributes the gain to reworked turbines and more advanced ECU programming. Stuttgart’s finest estimate a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 190mph, and they’re usually conservative with their figures. And, though no one buyers a Porsche for its gas mileage, the Turbo S reportedly returns 15/23, respectively. While we’re going to have to wait for the official press release for specifics, the Panamera Turbo S is expected to cost around $173,000; with the Panamera models exceeding Porsche’s sales projections, we doubt the hefty price tag will put off any truly interested buyers.
