We expect a lot from Koenigsegg, and they never disappoint. We wrote about the Agera almost one year ago (read here) and it’s just as mindblowing now as it was then. With the Agera R, the Swedes have somehow managed to massage another 200bhp out of the 5.0 liter twin turbo V8, bringing the grand total to 1115. For those out there looking to hit 200mpg and stay as green as possible, the Agera R can also run biofuel, although power output is scaled down to a still insane 940bhp. Aesthetically, the R shares the same aggressive look as the ‘base’ model, although the wheel and tire combination is new. Koenigsegg believes that their supercoupe may be able to best the Bugatti in the top speed category, and the downforce-generating turbine wheels and custom Michelin rubber are proof that the Swedes have the Veyron in their sights. The Agera R will debut at the Geneva Motorshow this week; look for it in the coming months to see if it can topple the reigning champ.
