Apple has finally drawn the curtain back on the newest iteration of their famed iPad. Rumors swirled for months (well, since the first one was released) about what the original iPad’s brother would eventually bring to our grabbing hands. Turns out, a heck of a lot. Apple’s silicon team threw a fresh 1 GHz dual-core A5 CPU in it that supposedly makes it twice as fast as it’s predecessor, and much-requested dual cameras for some quality FaceTime with the in-laws. Perhaps most lovable about Cupertino’s glossy new iDevice is a redesigned case that’s 1/3 as thin as the original, and cuts it’s total weight down to 1.3 pounds. Apple is never one to make design compromises, but fortunately 10 hours of battery life is still the standard here. iPad 2 comes in a white or black finish, and maintains their current pricing scheme, starting at $499. March 11th is the date the new magic arrives.
