Belgian media agency In Between Magic recently put together an impressive promotional video for Prime Television Network using model train miniatures and a minimalist backdrop. The result is a perfect example of ‘show don’t tell’ communication that effectively connects with the viewer. The ad ultimately succeeds because it’s able to boil down some of the greatest tv series over the past few years into their most iconic elements. I have to admit though, I would have preferred if the ad didn’t identify the show represented and left deciphering the message up to the audience instead. Still, any studio that’s able to take the complicated plot of LOST and sum it up with two backpackers and a ‘whoosh!’ sound has accomplished quite the impressive feat.
