Every once in a while it’s important to get yourself something for absolutely no reason. Enter Quoddy and Leffot’s brilliant collaboration; nothing new but still lusted after by shoe freaks and bloggers alike.
Quoddy made its mark over 100 years ago when Harry Smith Shorey began handmaking shoes in the ways of the Passamaquoddy tribe. Today Quoddy has come to represent fine craftsmanship and brilliant artistry, and even with the resurgence of American heritage brands today, it is impossible to deny the methods used by Maine’s finest.
Leffot, despite having been in business for about one hundred years less than Quoddy, is nonetheless an absolute authority on shoes. A purveyor of Alden, Corthay, Alfred Sargent, and Edward Green, among others, the West Village-based boutique is home to some of the finest footwear on the planet.
It was only natural that the two would be brought together, and the result is tremendous. If you call Steve, I think there may even be a few pairs left…
