About a Thread Count is J.Crew’s second film in their J.Crew Goes to Italy series. For this video lead designer Frank Muytjens and company visit the Thomas Mason Shirting factory and Crespi fabrics to show us where J.Crew gets its quality materials for their shirting and suits. They show us the importance of detail and quality and the hard work each of these mills put in to producing the best fabrics. Silvio Alibini of Thomas Mason is a 5th generation fabric manufacturer and his mills weave some of the best Egyptian cotton. Francesca Crespi on the other hand is a 7th generation fabric maker, and is the first woman to run the company. These places are rich and history, but more importantly, they’ve been in the business so long that they have simply become the best at what they do in terms of quality. All we have to say is check out the video, and be inspired by the people responsible for making the best J.Crew pieces.
