We were skeptical at first watching the beginning of this video by Turkish label Tween. We didn’t know what to expect until something out of the ordinary happened. The trench coat they’re showcasing in the video was easily transformed into a backpack, which we thought was one of the coolest things an outerwear could do. Sure we’ve seen it done before by other brands but not like this. Tween exclaims that their Autum/Winter 2011-12 line is, “all about utility.” It is also about discovery, and the modern man’s interpretation of travel and being prepared to go at a moment’s notice.
According to Tween, “multipurpose garments are created with an innate elegance, with highlight pieces including reversible, functional coats that can also be used as bags. Woolen jackets are coated and washed and sit alongside leather, denim and the range of fine gage and chunky knitwear. Mackinaw coats, relaxed suiting and patterned knitwear are offered in saturated hues of mustard, maroon, blue, brown, green grey and navy.”
