
For every ten Shelby car kits sold (still a great looking vehicle, don’t get us wrong), we hope there is a consumer out there who desires something just a little more special. The Heynsdyk kit travels through time to give us a vehicle that merges styling cues from the 50s and current vehicles, all the while creating power via one of the coolest engines of the 80s. Its Jaguar-inspired bonnet and snout make it easy to overlook the Fiat Abarth headlights; the BMW Z8-esque tail more than compensates for the styling miscues on the side profile. Our favorite feature is actually the engine, which has been swiped from the venerable Porsche 944 turbo, still a stylish and affordable sports coupe by today’s standards. By using galvanized steel to achieve significant weight reduction, the Heynsdyk manages to hit 60 in under six seconds. The price for exclusivity? A mere $20k for the kit, and only $50k for the complete car. Sure, a new Z4 is probably more reliable, but don’t you want to be able to find it in the parking lot?
