San Francisco based artist Ian Johnson takes his inspiration from Jazz musicians and authors. His works give visuals to the music artists such as Don Cherry, Chet Baker, Sammy Davis Jr., Thelonius Monk, and many more play. The mixture of color patterns in his drawings truly bring jazz to life not only in the art form, but also through the musicians he has respect for. Ian Johnson has exhibited his works with the likes of Fifty 24 SF, the Punch Gallery, White Walls, Park Life, and more in San Fransisco. He also has a book out entitled “Beauty is a Rare Thing,” which is published by Paper Museum Press.
