The ever innovative Steven Alan made the decision to release his Spring and Summer 2010 collection in the medium of a short film this year instead of the standard dog and pony show of New York Fashion Week and the results are gorgeous. A couple’s retreat from New York to the countryside for a weekend is the backdrop in an effort to take the looks out of the usual context of urbanity and into a setting with a much slower pace and more space to let the visuals breathe. As far as Alan’s clothes, they are straight from your parents’ photos from the 1960′s with simple plaid button ups and relaxed denim for men and sweet summer dresses and light sweaters for women. Romance and the light hearted side of life is what the collection is all about and the film expresses it beautifully.
See the movie after the jump.
