
Oris’ latest pilot watch, the BC4 Der Meisterflieger, eschews a traditional face layout and places minutes around the outer perimeter and hours on a small secondary dial, each with a single hand. Meisterflieger translates to “expert pilot,” and Oris designed the watch with clarity during flight as a central focus. They assert that their unusual minute and hour arrangement is easier to read at a glance while concentrating on a task at hand. A small secondary timer and date also occupy space of the face of the watch. A nickel case paired with a black Gaucho leather strap with contrast stitching ensures the Meisterflieger is stylish enough for any pilot, while an included knee board (for in-flight notes) and flight plan over north-west Switzerland increase the functional value of the package.
