Junk De Luxe – Autumn/Winter 2009 Lookbook

Perhaps no other label’s name more appropriately captures the spirit of its collections than Junk de luxe, whose A/W 2009 collection surely was inspired by the forgotten clothes of a wealthy grandparent. The line offers classic styling (shawl collar sweaters, straw boater hats, skinny bow ties) with the loucheness of a rich kid who’s tired of his luxury. Particularly notable is the leather jacket, which manages to appear rebellious and sumptuous, even with its hood. Junk de luxe mentions Woody Allen three times in its summary of this collection, and though he may favor his stylings either a bit more tailored (Match Point, Cassandra’s Dream) or American (Annie Hall, Manhattan) it’s not a stretch to imagine a distant (probably French) relative of his wearing the collection.
