Japanese label Mon tsuki’s Spring and Summer collection capitalizes on the recent interest in bicycling style, with the aptly titled Cycle Traditional. However, unlike recent cycling-inspired lines, Mon tsuki manages to resist the lure of pageboy caps and tweed sportcoats. At its core, the collection is an offering of smartly tailored streetwear, of trouser cut shorts, windbreakers, and skinny-lapeled jackets. Cycling does play a strong role in many of the pieces, particularly in the shortleg pants, nylon bags, low-cut sneakers, and racing-inspired tees. Ultimately, the collection works whether or not you bike to work, or haven’t biked in years
