Hulme CanAm

carfront

From Formula One to production comes the CanAm prototype. New Zealand’s Hulme Supercars (named after their only champion, Denny Hulme) has, after five years of research and development, almost completed work on their CanAm supercar. After touring around the world to gauge critical response, it appears that the final touches are being put on this Kiwi racecar. The midmounted LS7-powered vehicle really does bear a striking resemblance to a Formula One racer, and if Hulme can even come close to duplicating its handling or performance that would certainly be an impressive feat. The carbon composite tub and carbon/leather seats help keep weight down to a lean 1000kg, while the projected top speed is currently hovering around 247mph. If Hulme’s work comes to fruition (for an estimated $350,000), they just might have the next Veyron on their hands.
