Mazda’s perennial favorite, the MX-5 Miata, appears to have spawned a pint-sized brother. Borrowing from a few current Mazda models, the MX-2 is sure to be a great entry-level droptop. Despite the Mazda3-esque front fascia and Miata-like headrests and rear end, there seems to be a few new looks on this mini-roadster, like the futuristic mirror stalks and aggressive hood. Even though it is slated for smaller engines than its big brother (anywhere from .7 to 1.6 liters), its smaller size and reduced weight will undoubtedly make the MX-2 a blast in any setting. Mazda is rumored to be competing against a few other companies to get this off the production line first; the first run is slated for 2012.
