The team behind the highly acclaimed, Emmy award-winning, Band of Brothers, which includes Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman are back at it again with a new mini-series war epic. The Pacific follows the lives of three U.S. Marines as they move through this expansive location during World War II. The show is based on two memoirs of U.S. Marines – With the Old Breed by Eugene Sledge and Helmet for My Pillow by Robert Leckie. The series will tell the stories of the two authors and Marine John Basilone, as the war against the Empire of Japan rages. The show is produced by HBO Films in association with Playtone and DreamWorks Television, and is scheduled to debut on HBO in early 2010.

Hollywood continues to ignore ths STILL unfolding and very much alive, momentous and epic Korean War —while churning out ad nauseum WWII retreads. The moral alibi won’t work as Hollywood has been sold out, franchise slum style, to the staggeringly genocidal Red Chinese —for decades now. 70 million exterminated
in ‘peacetime’ in that land, millions suffering and dying in North Korea —while South Korea has emerged as the only prosperous, open and functioning democracy the north asian
landmass has EVER seen.
Hollywood is gutless and self-serving.
