Citroen’s GT appears to be making the leap from concept vehicle to limited-release production supercar, according to the latest reports. Having made the rounds at the Nurburgring and the Le Mans 24 Hour, this French-made two-seater is simply awaiting approval from the execs before it leaves the video game stage (the concept was originally created for use in the upcoming Gran Tourismo 5) and steps into reality. The GT actually represents a joint effort between Citroen and Polyphony Digital, the company that handles development for the Gran Tourismo franchise. The car is certainly something out of a video game: the beautiful wraparound windshield is easily the centerpiece, but the gaping air intakes, gullwing doors, and nearly horizontal rear spoiler finish off the visual package nicely. Since the car is not yet finalized, many details remain a secret. Even insiders are unsure about what will ultimately power the vehicle, as the concept was driven by an electric/fuel cell powertrain but a high-output V8 would be more practical. Look for a possible debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show.
