California design house Devon Motor Works has made quite an entrance into the automotive world with the GTX. As one of few vehicles to go from the drawing board (as the VR Concept) to assembly, the GTX was designed by former Ford engineer Daniel Paulin, and is undoubtedly his greatest creation (not that the Euro-only Focus C-Max wasn’t beautiful). The GTX draws from a lot of modern supercars, yet its carbon fiber body still maintains a very unique look. The bonnet conjures up thoughts of the Ferrari 599, and from a side profile, the back of the car bears a striking resemblance to the BMW Z8. Unique styling features include so-called “up and forward” articulating doors, alternate-colored fenders, and a striking almost-retro cockpit, draped almost entirely in chrome and dual-grain leather. Performance data is unreleased, as Devon’s bid for Dodge’s Viper division fell short earlier this month; however, it’s safe to say that the company won’t sell itself short…The GTX will try its hand at the Nurburgring and then make a full media debut at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach this summer.
