High-water trousers – the ankle-baring pants that have become a trademark of labels like Thom Browne – may have gained traction in the fashion world, but they haven’t exactly been adopted by the mainstream as of yet. One label championing this fashion-forward look is London-based b Store. Their Fall 2009 collection includes quite a few short trousers among their many looks that play with traditional proportions. Along with slim pants, the range includes some wide-cut pieces, perhaps suggesting the beginning of the end to the total dominance of all things skinny. Jackets and shirts similarly vary in length and fit, with some cropped and others reaching almost to the knees. Polka dots and stripes break up the solids, and nearly every type of collar imaginable has a place somewhere in the collection. b Store may not be for the average man, but for followers of clothing leaning toward the avant-garde, the line is certainly worth a look.
