Along with cheese and secret bank accounts, the Swiss are probably best known for their superior watchmaking, and with good reason: the country is home to some of the most revered and coveted names in time keeping. Establishing itself in this crowded space is relative newcomer, Zurich-based Maurice de Mauriac. Founded in 1997 by former banker Daniel Dreifuss, the company has lined up a stylish and modern collection for 2009. The line as a whole bridges the gab between traditional and modern wristwatches, with classic details on some models like crocodile leather straps paired with the all-black face the brand is credited with introducing into the current marketplace. As is customary for the company, this collection has enough variation to appeal to a wide spectrum of tastes and preferences. See Maurice de Mauriac for more, and be sure to check out the SwipeLife interview with Dreifuss here.
