Stockholm-based label fhonetics has been around since 2005, but is still widely unknown Stateside. That may perhaps change as Scandinavian brands continue to expand and gain traction around the world and the Autumn/Winter 09 lookbook from fhonetics aims to make more fans with the collection’s accessible style. Like previous seasons, the A/W 09 collection remains largely neutral in its color scheme, sticking with blacks and whites punctuated by the occasional flare of a vibrant blue in a striped or geometric-patterned sweater. Entitled “Remember Tomorrow,” the range does have a sense of contradiction and playing with opposites, most obviously seen in the contrast white buttons on a black vest and cardigan. Select fhonetics pieces are available at the concept store in Stockholm, or from Swedish online retailers like Fashionisland and Nelly.
