The 1969 Benelli 250cc four racer was a revolutionary racing machine at the time of its introduction, and is pictured here with its contemporary counterpart, a Benelli Tornado Tre LE. The vintage motorcycle utilizes an eight speed gearbox paired with a 16 valve cylinder head, producing 64 bhp at 14,500 rpm. The 250 bhp per liter ratio is impressive, even by today’s standards. The green and white color scheme is continued on current Benelli models, though they lack the number 2 roundel, which pays tribute to Kel Carruthers, the winner of the Grand Prix Road Race World Championship in Europe. Only 150 examples of the pictured model were produced.
