C.P. Company Spring/Summer 2009 Collection

Considering the predominantly dark color palette chosen for the clothes in C.P. Company’s S/S 09 lookbook, at first blush it seems that the only indication that this is a warm weather collection is the slim selection of Bermuda shorts and prevalence of bare ankles. A closer inspection, however, shows that the label uses lighter fabrics in certain items to keep wearers cool. The collection includes ultra-light nylon jackets, cotton/linen blazers, and voile and muslin shirts. Indeed, some of the fabric choices for other items in the collection – leather, shearling, polyester – don’t seem to fit with a spring summer line, but the entire collection fits with the cool, anti-conformist, avant-garde aesthetic C.P. Company’s fans have grown to love.
