Rogues Gallery has established itself as a label less defined by any prescribed trend and more by founder Alex Carleton’s Maine roots. With its nautical motif and hardy sensibility, the collection on display in the Fall 2009 Lookbook continues in the brand’s tradition of New England-inspired clothing that translates into city life, as well. Like the clothing, the photographs, shot against a backdrop of discarded antiques and maritime relics, have a faded, sea-stained quality about them. As anyone who has dealt with harsh Northeast weather will tell you, layering is a necessity, and the collection lends itself well to that, with screen-printed t-shirts, rugged button-downs, vests and patterned, zip-front knitwear. The flannel-lined, hooded down jacket or gray tweed trench complete the look.
