Japanese brand Flaph is back with a Spring/Summer 09 line that both pays homage to and updates the bold patterns and pieces that have become preppy staples. Plaid features prominently, from a rich green, yellow and red shirt jacket, to earth-tone pants and several options in button-downs. The outerwear stands out in the collection, as well, including a three-button blazer with vertical stripes in navy and red and a two-tone green raincoat. The line steers clear of the ever-popular slim fit, opting for a roomier cut, most notably in a pair of wide patchwork shorts, giving the clothes a casual feel.
