For its autumn-winter 2009-2010 collection, Belvest has put together coordinated models: shoulder garments, sweaters, ties and shirts that follow seven homogeneous style paths. A tribute to seven Venetian “paths”: from the Canal Grande to the calli, from the city’s foundations to its canals. Suits are sculpted while jackets and other winter essentials take the contemporary route. The seven “paths” included further explains the different variations, styles, colors, and fabrics of the entire range.

1 – SCULPTED: the suit is the statement of the season: the future because it is pure, without frills, “the essence of a stylish man”. The thinnest of lapels team up with a sartorial cut that is only apparently minimal, perfect to make a man even more handsome. A Prince of Wales-check suit in Super 130 wool with a very slim tie over an ultra-tight shirt with small collar and urban style.

2 – CONTEMPORARY: the modern jacket that is already a classic in Belvest Blue. Combined with mini-check and mini-stripe shirts with a hint of cherry or brick red that follows through to the sweaters and shirts, too. All fabrics are extremely soft, made from cashmere and coordinated with sweaters and regimental ties.

3 – ARCHITECTURAL: the young “gentleman dandy” jacket, a blazer in a super 140 wool-cashmere blend that is the perfect partner for patterned trousers and a camel-coloured extra-light sweater in 33-gauge quality.

4 – NEW CLASSIC: the most solid look, real “chairman of the board”-style, with imposing lapels and luxury fabrics like baby cashmere-ermine or the suit in pure cashmere. Combined with mini-check shirts that bring the fabric to life and an elegant striped sweater in shades of “essence”.

5 – ESSENTIAL: the jacket has an emptied look, with soft sleeves, in carded fabrics where the dominating hue is “Venetian velvet”. The extra-luxury version is in the finest 160 wool or pure baby cashmere. It is coordinated with a range of very rich colours and even a pure cashmere Harris Tweed sweater.

6 – JacketintheBox & DoubleJacket: a jacket with overlapping cut, lines and pockets, almost a cardigan thanks to its softness and details. It covers like a sweater but remains elegant with tailored cut and sartorial trimmings and all the Belvest quality. The matching sweaters are in Shetland wool/ cashmere with the taste of the former and the softness of the latter.

7 – NIGHTLIGHT: the black tuxedo is worn with a black/green Madras shirt and green bowtie. A new and decidedly chic way to combine outerwear with evening dress wear.
