Burberry is perhaps best known for its iconic trench coats. The label’s higher-end offshoot, Burberry Prorsum, updates these enduring pieces for a look that is simultaneously modern and timeless, an extension of the classic British designs of its parent company. For its Autumn/Winter 2009 collection, Burberry Prorsum offers a deep blue trench in a metallic fabric, supplemented by a fitted pea coat with a dramatically high collar and two duffel coats, one in beige, and one in navy with contrasting gray sleeves. Aside from outerwear, the line includes a smart, slim-cut blazer, a cotton cardigan and a few different options in generously-sized bags. And for the traditionalist in you, there is a scarf in the familiar Burberry tartan.
