Barker Black Ltd.

Barker Black defines themselves as the “eptiome of English refinement,” and with a history that can be traced back to shoemaker Arthur Barker in 1880, the brand does have tradition on its side. In the early 2000’s, fashion-minded brothers Derrick and Kirk Miller took over and re-launched Barker Black, with the goal of shaking up the stuffy designs and spreading English rock-n-roll style across the globe. Still using the time-tested techniques perfected by the craftsmen that came before them, the brothers re-designed the line with a certain punk sensibility, underlined by their signature skull and crossbones logo. The shoes are all hand finished, and flaunt unique details like crown-shaped cutouts and toe broguing designed to look like a skull, lending itself well to the sleek “subversive sophistication” the Miller brothers strive for with each piece. Beyond shoes, Barker Black also offers ties, suspenders and pocket squares, perfect for the gentleman looking for a bit of an edge in his wardrobe. Barker Black can be found at Neiman Marcus, Saks, Harrod’s and the brand’s own Nolita boutique.
