A lookbook presents an opportunity for a label to provide context for their seasonal collections in a way that traditional runway shows often cannot. For its Spring/Summer 09 line, “A Sundried Youth,” Our Legacy sought to evoke an older man looking back on his life, and how his garments, aged over time, reminds him of his everyday experiences. Keeping in line with the theme, the lookbook shuns a polished, studio-shot look for more natural, familiar settings. Models are shown going about their daily business, grocery shopping, walking down city streets and browsing cigar shops, documenting the seemingly inconsequential moments that make up the bulk of our waking lives. Most fittingly, it demonstrates how our clothing reflects what we do. A collage of snapshot images lends itself well to the scrapbook-like feel.
