In the early stages of his career, Danish-born designer Christian Westphal’s worked for the likes of Christian Dior, Emanuel Ungaro, and Delphine Murat. Now Westphal has his own successful label and was recently enlisted by Franz Ferdinand to design costumes for the band’s upcoming tour. Westphal’s summer 2009 line is here and features some fine detailing, like pants with diagonal button-flies, pants with side button front pockets, shirts with detachable double collars, and jackets with attachable vests. While some of the items in the collection seem dramatic -blazers with big lapels and shirts with large collars – the line is well tailored, modern, and luxurious.
