The XX designation, though relatively new to Ferrari, typically denotes a modified, track-only version of the original. The men from Maranello have taken the spellbinding 599 GTB Fiorano and turned it into a track demon. The XX debuts Ferrari’s new regenerative braking system, dubbed KERS, as well as their performance management system, the aptly named “High Performance Dynamic Concept.” This 700hp madman flaunts carbon fiber intake plenums and lightened engine materials to achieve max power at an insane 9,000RPM. With all of this added power comes plently of downforce. Using wind tunnel technology, the 599XX engineers also developed a new system called “ActiflowT,” which adjust downforce and drag based on actual conditions. Courtesy of a brand-new porous material in the diffuser, as well as fans, rear buttresses, and synthetic jets, this vehicle is a master through the twisties, so much so that it rivals some of Ferrari’s own racecars.
