Renowned design house Stile Bertone chose the Shanghai Auto show for the unveiling of its one-off Corvette ZR-1 conversion. The Grugliasco-based coachbuilders and masters of design have left very little from the original Corvette design. The hood is very angular and intense, drawing a lot of attention to the vertical headlights and the enlarged front air dam. From the side, the Bertone’s lineage is quite obvious, despite huge ducts the wrap around the car, remeniscent of a fighter jet. The rear of the car seems to be the subject of the majority of modifications: a larger carbon fiber centerpiece is framed by a revised decklid, which further accentuates the tail of the gorgeously redone roof. Now don’t let the bodywork fool you; this car has been lightened by over 100kg and with that comes an increase in performance: 0-60 time has been lowered to 3.2 seconds and the car’s top speed has been increased to 217mph.
