A number of fashion labels have made the transition from designing clothes to designing home furnishings – Armani Casa, Polo Ralph Lauren Home, Maison Martin Margiela, etc. – but David Design went the other way. Founded by David Carlson in 1988, David Design began as a furniture company creating products based on Scandinavian aesthetics. The company made the move to the fashion world a few years ago and has seen immense success in northern Europe and Japan. For spring / summer 2009, David Design has produced a small, well-crafted, modern, and sophisticated collection of slim cut suits, dressy chinos, and sunglasses.
