Red Collar Project Spring/Summer 2009

Yet another young Swedish brand making waves overseas, the year-old Red Collar Project designs menswear that is relaxed and contemporary. The name is a riff on the concept of blue- and white-collar workers, with red meant to symbolize a new class defined by lifestyle and personality. Their Spring/Summer 09 range emphasizes versatility. By unbuttoning, zipping, or rolling up a pant leg, you can create different looks with varied shapes and contours. A prime example is the Sam shirt, a checked button-down with safari-like details on the shoulders to keep the sleeves rolled up high. Like most Swedish brands, Red Collar Project doesn’t shy away from color (note the bright green bomber jacket), but there is a balance here with lighter hues, as well. The line is rounded out by basic tees and cotton shorts. You can find Red Collar Project attire throughout Europe and Japan.
