Raf Simons is without question one of the most influential figures in fashion today. The Belgian designer, known for his striking, youthful designs and unconventional runway shows, has garnered international attention with his menswear collections for both his self-titled label and Raf by Raf Simons, as well as collaborations with others like Fred Perry and Doc Martens. oki-ni takes a look back on Simons’ designs of years past with their first in a series of retrospectives intended to give their customers an idea of the history behind their preferred labels. The Raf Simons archive offers a compelling look at over 60 pieces, highlighting the essentials to gain perspective on the designer’s often futuristic and avant-garde garments, mixed in with his simple and more practical attire. For an example of the breadth of Simons’ work, see the mesh hoodie from his Spring/Summer 06 line, followed directly by a collaboration with Eastpak and then a simple, black tee.
