A high-concept label out of South Korea, beyondcloset by Ko Tae Yong develops a theme each season and runs with it. For his Autumn/Winter 09 collection, Ko envisioned a young soldier getting drafted into war and his subsequent homesickness. In some pieces, this idea is expressed literally in details like medals of honor that hang from the breasts of several coats and shirts with epaulettes. That isn’t to say that the collection takes itself too seriously. Orange accents and even a yellow cow-print belt give the clothes some kick and color for the cold winter months.
