The YSL alum and Dior’s current artistic director has brought a new vision for his Fall/Winter 09 collection. Kris Van Assche has unveiled his new collection in a rather subdued black and white photographic spread focusing on the darker colors, layers, and inevitable warmer clothes for the winter season. Thick gauge knits, chunky drab hand-knit sweaters, and the usual dark suit-jackets. Most notably, the large military inspired boots from his runway show have made their way into the line again. Some people have speculated this is Van Asche’s statement towards commercialization or even the various wars currently going on the middle east. Statement or not, the line definitely has a sort of dessert military vibe.
