The theme for Levi’s new vintage collection is derived from the American jailhouses during the 1920′s to 50′s. Back then, denim was a prevalent and affordable way of clothing prisoners. Such other iconic influences for the collection comes from Clint Eastwood’s The Escape from Alcatraz film or Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues album. Prison styles are simple – basic jeans, shirt, rolled up-hat, oversize outerwear in wool, and boots. This collection houses a lot of these items but with Levi’s own take. Some items you can expect are prison issue 501′s from the year 1933 and 44 that come with an orange suspender or a prisoner of war brand. As for tops, expect orange graphic tees, striped shirts, wool sweater, and a Lev’is Donkey Jacket that comes with leather details.
