Ute Ploier Autumn/Winter 2009
Austrian designer Ute Ploier launched her label in 2003. Prior to her own label, Ploier was a student of Raf Simons’ at the University of Applied Arts of Vienna. Her collection is usually made up of very detailed pieces that mixes layering and unusual fabrics. Items usually span from casual wear such as hoodies to suits. For Autumn/Winter 2009 Ploier exercises her ability to construct pieces from a wide range of fabrics. Her oversize jackets are sculptural, as well as her knits, and some shirts. Shoulder details become an important detail in some of her suits. Her color choices are solid and earthy, but never too bright.
