Two more jackets that have garnered my attenion are the creations of veteran British designer, Nigel Cabourn. Much of his work was initially adorned in Japanese markets, but later branched out to international retailers and included accounts with Barney’s and Bloomingdale’s. That early influence from Japan is apparent in his workmanship. The fabrics for the Swedish Parka and German Flight Jacket are entirely Japanese fabrics – 50/50 cotton and nylon. They are medium weight jackets that can carry over into this coming Fall season.
The Swedish parka possesses numerous details: envelope pockets, Corozo nut buttons, leather tabbed drawstrings.
The German Flight Jacket maintains several details that were based on the German Luftwaffe pilot jacket with high-fastening neck, internal waistband adjusters, and press stud zip cuff. Images of the German Flight Jacket after the jump.
