For his Fall/Winter collection, Designer Christopher Bailey marries a nostalgic reference point with modern styling. Like many of the shows this season, the featured color palette is dark and serious. There are predominately black and white contrasts along with grays and plums. Updated Fair Isle sweaters, rumpled tuxedo shirts and boiled velvet suits looked both rich and lived-in. Key accessories include the short capes, rubber-soled boots, knitted pieces and bowties, the new icon of contemporary masculinity. What Bailey does best is deliver disheveled elegance, and in this collection he did it in spades.
